Job Description

Vice President, Product Management, Platform & Innovation

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Product Management, Platform & Innovation based in United States.

This executive product leadership role oversees three strategic areas: platform capabilities, innovation, and the technical dimension of a major technology ecosystem relationship. You will define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for shared platform services, including AI-enabled capabilities that can accelerate product delivery and create leverage across a broad SaaS portfolio. At the same time, you will lead an innovation organization responsible for discovering, validating, incubating, and launching new products. The role combines deep technical fluency with commercial ownership, portfolio strategy, and organizational leadership. You will work closely with Engineering, Go-to-Market, Finance, Legal, Security, and executive stakeholders to turn strategic priorities into measurable outcomes. Success will be reflected in platform adoption, innovation velocity, new product revenue, and the long-term strength of the product organization.

Accountabilities:
  • Define the vision and strategic direction for the platform and new-product portfolio in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Translate company priorities into investment theses, product roadmaps, measurable objectives, operating plans, and clear portfolio decisions.
  • Make disciplined build, buy, partner, invest, scale, and stop decisions based on customer value, market opportunity, business impact, and available resources.
  • Own the platform as a product, establishing clear customers, value propositions, adoption goals, roadmaps, and success metrics.
  • Develop shared platform capabilities, including AI-enabled services, that increase customer value, accelerate product development, support revenue growth, and reduce duplicated effort.
  • Drive platform adoption by reducing integration friction, coordinating rollout and migration strategies, and partnering with product and engineering teams.
  • Establish and monitor metrics covering adoption, reliability, cost efficiency, developer experience, time to market, and overall business impact.
  • Lead the innovation portfolio, identifying, validating, incubating, and launching new product opportunities aligned with customer needs and strategic advantages.
  • Apply a disciplined 0-to-1 product approach covering customer discovery, market validation, experimentation, business-case development, commercialization, and early customer adoption.
  • Establish evidence-based stage gates for advancing, changing, scaling, or discontinuing innovation investments.
  • Partner with Go-to-Market teams on positioning, pricing, packaging, launches, and early commercial traction, owning the path from concept to measurable revenue and adoption.
  • Serve as the senior product leader for the technical dimension of the organization’s strategic technology ecosystem relationship, representing the business in technical, platform, and roadmap discussions.
  • Monitor changes to platform architecture, APIs, developer frameworks, marketplaces, security requirements, and the broader technology ecosystem.
  • Translate ecosystem changes into product opportunities, competitive differentiation, readiness plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead, develop, recruit, and retain a high-performing team of product managers and product leaders while building a strong leadership and succession pipeline.
  • Establish an effective operating cadence for planning, decision-making, performance management, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Communicate product strategy, progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes effectively across executive, technical, and business audiences.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; an MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible product management experience, including 5+ years leading product managers or product leadership teams.
  • Proven success defining and scaling cloud platforms, shared services, APIs, or developer-facing capabilities within a SaaS, XaaS, or consumption-based business.
  • Demonstrated ability to take net-new products from 0-to-1 discovery through launch, customer adoption, and commercial traction.
  • Strong technical fluency across APIs, authentication and authorization, cloud architecture, high availability, security, privacy, and regulatory considerations.
  • Experience translating platform investments into measurable business outcomes such as revenue growth, faster time to market, increased adoption, improved productivity, reduced operating costs, or greater reliability.
  • Commercial ownership of a significant software portfolio, including P&L, revenue, or comparable business accountability.
  • Experience owning or contributing to strategic technology platform or partner relationships.
  • Strong executive judgment, strategic thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to create alignment amid ambiguity, competing priorities, and complex tradeoffs.
  • Proven track record of building, coaching, and retaining high-performing product organizations.
  • Experience within the Atlassian ecosystem, including Forge, Marketplace, and Atlassian APIs, is preferred.
  • Experience operating cloud services at significant scale, ideally exceeding 100 million daily service calls, is preferred.
  • Experience with commercial ownership of an XaaS portfolio exceeding $50 million in annual recurring revenue is preferred.
  • Experience developing AI-enabled platform capabilities or commercial AI products is preferred.

Benefits:

  • Product-first B2B SaaS environment focused on building and scaling solutions for enterprise customers.
  • High-impact leadership role with direct influence over product strategy, innovation, and customer outcomes.
  • Company equity eligibility for employees, providing an opportunity to share in business growth.
  • Unlimited paid time off plus 10 paid holidays annually.
  • 100% company-paid health insurance, with dental coverage shared equally between the company and employees.
  • Vision coverage, group term life insurance, voluntary life insurance, critical illness, accident, and long-term disability coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Three fully paid volunteering days annually to support local community initiatives.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts.
  • Monthly stipend to support remote-work setup.
  • Equipment and peripheral support through a company-provided purchasing account.
  • Fitness and wellness reimbursement opportunities.
  • Remote work opportunity in the United States.
  • Opportunity to lead platform, AI, and innovation initiatives within a globally distributed organization.
  • Strong emphasis on professional growth, autonomy, collaboration, continuous learning, and meaningful ownership.
