Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager - Brand Marketing based in the United States.
The Senior Manager - Brand Marketing will shape how the market understands and engages with a growing AI consulting and engineering business. This strategic, hands-on role spans brand positioning, sector-specific content, public relations, analyst relations, events, and employer branding. You will translate complex technical capabilities into clear, evidence-backed messages that resonate with decision-makers in highly regulated and specialized industries. Working closely with executive leadership, technical experts, and external partners, you will build a measurable marketing engine that strengthens credibility and supports business growth. The role offers the opportunity to define a distinctive market position, elevate industry recognition, and connect brand investment to meaningful commercial outcomes. It is well suited to an entrepreneurial marketing leader who enjoys building systems, producing high-quality work, and turning deep expertise into compelling stories.
Build a sector-focused content strategy: Partner with marketing leadership and operations to develop a repeatable content engine for priority industries and sub-sectors, connecting each asset to a clearly identified buyer, business problem, evidence, and intended outcome.
Translate technical expertise into buyer value: Interview engineers, strategists, delivery leaders, and clients; research relevant regulations, accreditation requirements, procurement processes, and industry deadlines; and turn complex capabilities into concise, compelling messaging.
Strengthen brand consistency and differentiation: Develop specific, credible stories for individual sectors while maintaining a cohesive brand identity and a clear point of view across the business.
Lead public relations initiatives: Coordinate agencies, contractors, and specialist communications partners; build relationships with national and industry-specific media; and secure earned coverage that showcases measurable client outcomes and organizational expertise.
Manage analyst relations: Coordinate briefings, inquiries, evaluations, market guide participation, and other engagement with industry analysts. Turn analyst recognition into practical proof points that support sales conversations and market credibility.
Oversee events and speaking opportunities: Manage the event portfolio, including industry conferences, executive roundtables, accreditation events, client advisory sessions, and targeted briefings. Evaluate each initiative against cost per qualified opportunity and reallocate investment toward the formats that deliver results.
Develop executive visibility and category positioning: Support thought leadership, category creation, and the launch of major intellectual property, including an upcoming book. Build a consistent presence across the channels that matter to target audiences.
Own internal events and employer branding: Lead initiatives such as company-wide meetings, offsites, internal learning days, and culture-focused activities that reinforce the employee experience and attract qualified candidates.
Establish measurable performance standards: Track sector-specific content, earned media placements, analyst engagement, event efficiency, visibility in AI-generated answers, offering-page clarity, and employer-brand outcomes.
Build and improve the marketing function: Operate effectively with a lean internal team, direct external partners, use AI tools responsibly for research and content production, and develop a four-quarter roadmap that prioritizes investments and identifies activities to discontinue.
Professional experience: 5–10+ years in brand marketing, content, communications, or product marketing, including at least two years leading initiatives and owning outcomes. Experience in B2B professional services, consulting, or enterprise technology is strongly preferred.
Industry expertise: Demonstrated experience in at least one regulated or specialized sector, such as healthcare, life sciences, government or defense contracting, or financial services. Understanding how industry-specific compliance, procurement, and decision-making influence purchasing timelines is essential.
Content portfolio: A strong portfolio of sector-specific marketing work, ideally including examples created for a clearly defined buyer and business challenge that demonstrate measurable impact.
Technical storytelling: Proven ability to extract detailed knowledge from subject-matter experts, conduct independent research, interpret primary sources, and turn complex concepts into accurate, accessible, and persuasive content.
Public relations results: Demonstrable earned-media achievements, including relevant placements and a clear understanding of the strategy and execution behind them.
Analyst relations expertise: Direct experience working with Gartner, Forrester, IDC, or comparable analyst organizations, including briefings and evaluations rather than subscription management alone.
Event management and measurement: Experience managing events against defined performance indicators, evaluating commercial effectiveness, and discontinuing formats that do not deliver sufficient value.
AI-enabled marketing: Practical experience directing AI tools for research, drafting, and content production, paired with strong editorial judgment and an understanding of accuracy and risk in regulated industries.
Strategic and operational capabilities: Ability to develop a clear brand and content strategy while personally executing the work, from research and writing through distribution and measurement.
Analytical mindset: Comfort measuring brand performance through earned placements, share of voice, event efficiency, pipeline contribution, and other relevant leading and lagging indicators.
Leadership and collaboration: Ability to manage external partners, work effectively with senior leaders and technical teams, and build and coach a team as the function grows.
Communication skills: Excellent writing and interviewing skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas concisely without sacrificing accuracy or substance.
Entrepreneurial approach: Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, remote-first environment and motivated by the opportunity to build and improve a function rather than inherit an established structure.
Additional advantage: Experience with category creation, book launches, or executive thought-leadership platforms.
Work environment: Remote-first, entrepreneurial setting with opportunities to work closely with executive leadership and technical experts.
Strategic ownership: Broad responsibility across brand, content, public relations, analyst relations, events, and employer branding.
Professional development: Opportunity to deepen expertise in AI, regulated industries, sector-specific marketing, and emerging approaches to brand visibility.
Function-building opportunity: Scope to shape marketing strategy, establish performance standards, direct external partners, and build a team as the organization grows.
Compensation and formal benefits: Salary range, bonus structure, healthcare coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off, and other employee benefits were not specified in the provided job description.
