Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Clinical Therapist, reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, is a full-time (40 hours per week), independently licensed clinician who provides assessment and individual, group, and family therapy for adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders as well as children and families as indicated per program outlines. All work follows ASAM criteria, state and federal law, the counseling code of ethics, and SFRC's evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures.
Please note that the typical schedule is Thursday through Monday. However, we do offer flexibility with scheduling and are willing to work with you on hours when possible.

Requirements:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage an assigned caseload and meet productivity expectations set by SFRC.
- Conduct assessments using SFRC's biopsychosocial assessment (BPS), risk assessment, and other evaluation tools to determine ASAM level of care.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the treatment team.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices for SUD and co-occurring disorders, including psychoeducation, cognitive-behavioral approaches, motivational interviewing, and other holistic modalities.
- Lead discharge and continuing-care planning.
- Complete timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with BHSD standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary treatment team on referrals and continuity of care.
- Provide clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians as assigned.
- Participate in initial and ongoing training on SFRC's evidence-based practices and maintain fidelity to them.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, including motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral approaches.
- Working knowledge of ASAM criteria and level-of-care determination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Computer literacy sufficient to maintain compliance with BHSD (Behavioral Health Services Division) standards for computerized client assessments, the electronic health record, and data systems.
- Bilingual/bicultural (English/Spanish) preferred.
- LADAC credential, substance use specialty training, or experience providing clinical supervision preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Current, unrestricted New Mexico independent clinical license: LCSW, LPCC, LPAT or LMFT.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
- At least two (2) years of post-master's experience providing individual and group therapy to clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- For individuals in recovery from SUD, a minimum of two (2) years of uninterrupted abstinence from alcohol and/or drugs.
- Current, valid New Mexico driver's license, clean driving record, and auto insurance.
