Overview
The Senior P2P Data Analyst serves as the lead reporting, analytics, and business intelligence resource for New York University's Procure-to-Pay (P2P) function. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, key performance indicators, and analytical solutions that provide visibility into procurement, payables, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and travel operations. Through advanced reporting and monitoring capabilities, enable budget holders and University leadership to measure operational performance, monitor compliance with procurement and payment policies, identify risks and opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making. Working collaboratively with Procurement and Payables leadership, Finance, and campus stakeholders, translate business requirements into actionable insights that drive operational excellence, financial stewardship, and continuous improvement. Establish reporting standards, promote data quality and governance, and leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), predictive analytics, and automation, to enhance reporting capabilities, strengthen compliance monitoring, and improve organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or a related field.
Required Experience:
5+ years data analytics, business intelligence, financial analysis, procurement analytics, or a related analytical role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years Experience supporting procurement, accounts payable, sourcing, contract management, supplier management, travel, or other Procure-to-Pay functions. Experience with ERP, procurement, and financial systems such as PeopleSoft, JAGGAER, Concur, AppZen, Oracle, Workday, SAP, or similar platforms.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis techniques. Demonstrated experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Experience developing executive-level reporting and performance metrics. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively. Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting frameworks. Knowledge of data quality management, validation techniques, and reporting governance best practices. Ability to perform trend analysis, benchmarking, forecasting, and root cause analysis. Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain accountability for deliverables. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into reporting solutions. Knowledge of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, automation, and advanced analytics tools, and their application to business reporting, process improvement, and decision support. Ability to evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools to improve reporting efficiency, data analysis, forecasting, compliance monitoring, and operational effectiveness while maintaining appropriate data governance and security standards.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience supporting procurement, accounts payable, sourcing, contract management, supplier management, travel, or other Procure-to-Pay functions. Experience working with Higher Education Experience with ERP, procurement, and financial systems such as PeopleSoft, JAGGAER, Concur, AppZen, Oracle, Workday, SAP, or similar platforms. Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and reporting environments. Experience utilizing AI-enabled analytics, automation, or business intelligence solutions to improve reporting, operational performance, or decision support Demonstrated experience managing data quality, validation, and governance protocols specifically for data pipelines that feed AI, machine learning, or automated workflow engines.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 to USD $130,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
