Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished sales professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably within the specialty pharmacy or infusion sector. The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with referral networks in the specialty infusion market and demonstrate success in engaging physicians and health systems while cultivating new referral relationships. This individual should exhibit strong sales expertise, a commanding sales presence, and the capability to drive new business through refined sales methodologies and effective support of strategic partnership initiatives. The Business Development Specialist reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. This position will cover Brevard County.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Develops and strengthens strategic relationships with providers and prescribers in neurology, immunology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, endocrinology, and other specialty areas by leveraging industry knowledge, targeted strategies, and effective sales tactics to drive sustained business growth, increased referrals, revenue expansion, and enhanced gross profit.
- Evaluates and develops territory-specific opportunities, engaging directly with prospective customers to advance the sales process and convert leads into active referral sources.
- Identifies high-value prospects and executing strategies that maximize territory potential.
- Meets or exceeds established targets for referrals, revenue, gross profit, budget adherence, and client satisfaction metrics.
- Embraces challenging goals, maintaining strong motivation to achieve and outperform defined performance expectations.
- Exhibits leadership and strong teamwork, collaborating effectively across departments to support organizational goals and deliver value.
- Coordinates closely with the Patient Access Team and Clinical Staff to ensure accurate, timely communication of all referral information in full compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry with high business acumen.
- Entrepreneurial, creative, strong team player & comfort in a business with rapid growth.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to support client engagement and achieve sales objectives.
- Exceptional ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and clients.
- Self-motivated and able to manage tasks and projects with minimal oversight.
- Microsoft suite proficiency and CRM experience.
- BS in business or related field preferred. Successful history of sales within the healthcare industry required.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans and their coverage processes is considered a plus.
- Commission for this position is available and will be structured in accordance with company policies and discretion.
