Job Description
Provides direct patient care as ordered and directed by physician. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs,and preparing patients for examination. Scheduling referrals and procedures.
Performs clinical activities required to assist the physician in a clinical setting.
Exercises appropriate measures to maintain high standards of patient care.
Referrals.
Orders and maintains net and orderly stock of supplies.
Complies with standards of TJC and other governing agencies.
Cleans and prepares rooms between patients.
Obtains prior authorizations/scheduling referrals and procedures.
Cross-covers for Medical Secretary.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. BLS required.
Professional Requirements:
Knowledge of computer applications associated with hospital and physician practice to include word processing and spreadsheets. Prefer medical terminology.
BLS required.
Skills/Position Requirements:
Ability to read, write and follow detailed procedures with minimum instruction.
Ability to work rapidly and accurately under conditions of frequent interruptions and tight timetables.
Ability to perform duties according to procedures with minimal supervision and to exercise initiative and judgement when necessary.
Ability to handle confidential information
