This role offers the opportunity to shape and build a cutting-edge enterprise on-prem platform for a leading PostgreSQL ecosystem. You will be responsible for designing and evolving the systems that enable customers to deploy, manage, secure, and operate TimescaleDB within their own environments. Working in a highly collaborative, remote-first engineering organization, you will operate across the full product stack, from backend services to operational tooling and user-facing workflows. The position requires strong ownership, product intuition, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. You will engage directly with enterprise customers to translate real-world infrastructure challenges into scalable technical solutions. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence the direction, usability, and reliability of a rapidly growing enterprise platform.
- Lead the design and development of the TimescaleDB Enterprise on-prem platform, defining architecture and technical direction across core components.
- Build and improve management consoles, deployment workflows, configuration systems, operational tooling, and customer administration experiences.
- Own end-to-end technical decisions, balancing scalability, performance, maintainability, and user experience.
- Collaborate directly with enterprise customers and prospects to understand operational needs and translate them into practical product solutions.
- Drive feature development while continuously improving system reliability, usability, and operational simplicity.
- Partner with Platform Engineering, Product, Support, and Sales Engineering teams to align execution and strategy.
- Contribute to the long-term vision of the enterprise platform while operating effectively in evolving, ambiguous environments.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in developer platforms, infrastructure products, or enterprise systems.
- Strong ability to work across full-stack systems, including backend services, deployment infrastructure, and operational tooling.
- Experience or strong familiarity with PostgreSQL, distributed systems, or enterprise-grade deployment environments.
- Proficiency with modern development and AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Proven ability to engage with technical customers and translate feedback into product direction.
- Strong product thinking with the ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and making decisions with incomplete information.
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of autonomy and ownership mindset.
Benefits:
- Fully remote work with global flexibility.
- Flexible PTO and comprehensive family leave policies.
- Fridays off in August for additional work-life balance.
- Stock options for long-term incentive and growth participation.
- Monthly WiFi stipend to support remote work setup.
- Professional development and learning resources.
- Premium healthcare and insurance options (US-based employees).
- Access to a modern tech stack including PostgreSQL, AWS, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI-powered tools.
