CBO Medical Biller in Soldotna, Alaska at Central Peninsula Hospital

POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Biller is responsible for the billing and collection of Government and Commercial insurance claims with a strong understanding of billing principals, medical terminology, coding, and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree(GED).
• 2 years of medical billing experience.
• 2 years of billing - government (Medicare/Medicaid) experience.
• Strong knowledge of Third-party insurance & Government billing practices & regulations, billing code sets and billing terminology.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent and persuasive communication skills.
• 10-Key proficiency
• Excellent computer software skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), email and electronic calendar (Outlook).
• Ability to understand and extrapolate needed data and perform basic mathematical equations.
• Ability to reconcile claim balances within accounts with multiple claim activity.
• Strong logistics and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED:

• Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) from the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM).
