Position Overview:
We are seeking an Assurance Associate who will assist in planning and preparing audit workpapers, performing financial analysis, identifying client issues, and offering value-added recommendations. This role offers strong opportunities for technical growth, hands-on client interaction, and advancement within the assurance practice.
Essential Functions:
● Prepare for audits, including trial balance and lead sheet setup, creating schedules, analyzing spreadsheets, and verifying accuracy of client accounting records.
● Maintain financial updates and gain an understanding of client business operations.
● Meet budget and realization goals and support staff in meeting theirs.
● Identify client issues and clarify service responsibilities during engagements.
● Participate in staff and intern recruiting activities.
● Monitor professional developments and research technical accounting issues.
● Identify and communicate problem areas and propose solutions to managers and partners.
● Offer value-added suggestions during audits and reviews.
● Meet assigned chargeable hour goals.
● Participate in internal training as appropriate.
● Work toward completing the CPA exam if not already achieved.
Position Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
● CPA license strongly preferred.
● Two to five years of public accounting experience preferred.
● Strong knowledge of basic accounting procedures and GAAP.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask.
● Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
