The Role

Your Impact
As a graduate engineer within the TC team, you will:

  • Build & Scale: Participate in technical projects and client deliveries that continue to expand Ascenda's product offerings globally.
  • Ship High-Quality Code: Learn and maintain our high standards for code quality, reliability, and scalability from day one.
  • API Development: Assist in designing and implementing elegant APIs and learning the underlying cloud infrastructure that supports them.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Learn to own problems from end to end, managing complexity and collaborating directly with cross-functional teams (Product, Partnerships, etc.) to understand business impact.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with fellow engineers on technical skills sharing, absorb domain exposure, and fast-track your path to becoming a subject matter expert.

Who You Are
  • Minimum Degree Holder in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (Fresh Graduates / Recent Graduates in 2025/2026)
  • A strong computer science foundation with an interest in learning about cloud systems architecture, networking, databases, and distributed systems
  • Some experience or project work in at least one backend language. We primarily use Ruby; prior experience is preferred, but a strong aptitude and eager desire to pick up and become proficient in Ruby is what matters most
  • Basic experience in building frontends (either in vanilla JS or using modern frameworks) is an added advantage
  • You genuinely love building things. You get energized by using technology to solve real-world problems and prefer simple, elegant solutions over overly complex ones. And you love exploring the use of new technologies, such as AI, to optimise yours and your team’s processes
  • Great collaborator who possesses strong communication skills, is comfortable working across teams, and is not afraid to suggest creative improvements
  • Exceptionally curious, adaptable, and hungry to learn new languages, libraries, and engineering practices
  • Strong alignment with Ascenda’s core values of growth mindset, hands-on ownership, supportive collaboration, and radical simplicity
