Food & Beverage QA Technician 1st Shift
Location: Hendersonville, NC
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
Job Summary
Friday Workforce Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Food & Beverage QA Technician for a full-time 1st shift opportunity in Hendersonville, NC. This position is responsible for performing in-process quality inspections and laboratory testing to ensure products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards in a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has experience in quality assurance, laboratory testing, or food manufacturing and is committed to maintaining the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Perform analytical testing on food and beverage products, including juice, water, tea, and concentrates.
Conduct quality testing for pH, Brix, titratable acidity, vitamin C, color, and clarity.
Perform sensory evaluations, including taste, smell, and appearance, to verify product consistency.
Complete pre-operational inspections, line clearances, and hourly quality checks on products, packaging, and labeling.
Accurately enter laboratory and production data into quality systems.
Assist with product holds, investigations, and disposition of non-conforming products.
Perform microbiological sampling and support environmental monitoring programs.
Verify calibration and accuracy of laboratory and production testing equipment.
Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF requirements, HACCP, and food safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and production environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
13 years of quality assurance, quality control, or food and beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
Basic laboratory testing experience.
Basic computer and data entry skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience in aseptic processing or GMP-regulated manufacturing is preferred.
Knowledge of microbiology or environmental monitoring is a plus.
Associate degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
Frequent use of hands for testing, sampling, and documentation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment and varying temperatures.
Must be able to see, hear, and communicate effectively in a production setting.
