Technical Writer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Writer based in Canada.

This role is an opportunity to shape how developers understand and adopt innovative technology through clear, impactful documentation.
You will own the creation of guides, tutorials, references, and technical resources that help users succeed quickly.
The position combines strong writing skills with technical curiosity, requiring close collaboration with engineering and growth teams.
You will transform complex concepts into accessible content that improves developer experience and product adoption.
The role treats documentation as a product, using feedback and insights to continuously improve clarity and usability.
You will work in a fast-paced remote environment where ownership, initiative, and attention to detail are highly valued.

Accountabilities:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining developer-focused documentation while ensuring technical accuracy, clarity, and an excellent user experience. This role requires close collaboration with technical teams and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.

  • Create and own documentation, tutorials, guides, and API references used by developers.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and product functionality into clear, practical, and easy-to-follow content.
  • Continuously test and use the product to identify documentation gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to document new features accurately and efficiently.
  • Treat documentation as a product by analyzing user behavior, identifying friction points, and improving resources accordingly.
  • Ensure content helps users reach successful outcomes quickly and confidently.
  • Maintain high standards for accuracy, structure, readability, and overall developer experience.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong technical writing experience with the ability to understand developer workflows, APIs, and software products. This role requires someone who can independently create valuable resources and continuously improve documentation based on user needs.

  • 3+ years of experience writing technical documentation for developer-facing products, APIs, or software platforms.
  • Proven ability to create clear, structured, and engaging technical content.
  • Technical understanding sufficient to read code, work with APIs, and understand the systems being documented.
  • Strong focus on developer experience and the ability to anticipate user questions and challenges.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts without losing accuracy.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results quickly.
  • Comfortable working in fast-changing environments with evolving products and requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
  • Portfolio demonstrating technical documentation or developer-focused writing experience.
