Position Summary

The Master's Level Clinician provides comprehensive behavioral health services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, including individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This position is responsible for conducting assessments, developing and monitoring treatment plans, delivering therapeutic interventions, and coordinating community-based services as part of a multidisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team.

The clinician serves as a clinical resource within the team, promoting recovery-oriented, evidence-based, and trauma-informed practices while supporting individuals in achieving their treatment goals and enhancing overall quality of life.

Essential FunctionsClinical Services
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and ongoing evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual supportive counseling and therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver clinical, rehabilitative, and recovery-oriented services in community-based settings.
  • Monitor consumer progress and modify treatment approaches as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.
  • Coordinate behavioral health, medical, housing, employment, financial, and community resources.
Case Management & Service Coordination
  • Provide case management services for assigned individuals.
  • Advocate for individuals served and support access to community resources.
  • Collaborate with families, providers, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
  • Facilitate treatment team meetings and interdisciplinary care planning.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, licensing, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document services and monitor productivity and outcomes.
  • Protect consumer confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Quality & Program Support
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to multidisciplinary team members.
  • Promote evidence-based practices, recovery principles, and trauma-informed care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and outcome monitoring activities.
  • Assist in reviewing clinical documentation and service delivery practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation & Experience

One of the following is required:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; or
  • Registered Nurse with certification in Mental Health Nursing; or
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).

Additionally:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical supervisory experience in behavioral health.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative supervisory experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid Delaware behavioral health professional license or comparable national certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory criminal background clearances.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs as needed.
  • Ability to frequently drive to community locations and program sites.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, and other business technology.
  • Work is performed in office, residential, and community-based environments.
  • Exposure to multiple work sites and varying environmental conditions.
