Job Description
Membership Marketing Analyst
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) is a mission-driven non-profit dedicated to ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage. Since our founding in 1984, we have helped conserve nearly one square mile of elk country every day. In partnership with others, we have conserved or enhanced more than 9.2 million acres, including improving public access to 1.6 million acres. Our impact will extend to 10 million acres by 2030.
RMEF is seeking a Membership Marketing Analyst to support our high-performing, multi-channel direct response program by driving growth through transforming member, supporter and campaign data into actionable strategies. This position is focused on direct response and marketing analytics across direct mail, email, events, paid social, SMS and CTV. Responsibilities include:
- Campaign list development and segmentation
- Performance reporting
- Data-driven insights that support acquisition, retention, fundraising and revenue growth
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of conservation in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Location:
RMEF’s Membership Marketing Analyst position is based at RMEF’s Headquarters office in Missoula, Montana full time.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience working with CRM or marketing databases in a direct response, fundraising, or membership environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting direct mail and/or digital marketing campaigns through data selection, segmentation, and reporting.
- Experience working with NetSuite (or comparable CRM/ERP platforms) and Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo or equivalent) and paid social analytics tools (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads) preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Build and deliver list pulls, selections, and suppressions for all direct mail and digital marketing campaigns, ensuring timelines and specifications are met. Serve as the primary point of contact for merge/purge coordination, co-op data exchanges, and data file delivery to mail production vendors.
- Develop and maintain audience segmentation strategies to support acquisition, renewal, fundraising, upgrade, and reactivation efforts.
- Analyze and report on digital direct response performance across email (Klaviyo), paid social (Meta, Google), SMS, and CTV — including deliverability, open and click rates, conversion, cost per acquisition, and revenue attribution.
- Produce recurring and ad hoc campaign reports, dashboards, and analyses to measure performance across mail and digital channels, across three tiers: (1) ongoing operational reporting on a fixed weekly and monthly cadence; (2) post-campaign results analysis per mail drop; and (3) strategic analytical work including ask array analysis, lifetime value analysis, and churn and retention reporting.
- Partner cross-departmentally to interpret results, identify trends, and recommend data-driven optimizations.
- Support campaign forecasting, revenue tracking, and post-campaign analysis for direct response initiatives.
- Support, as requested by supervisor, IT on data warehouse maintenance — including providing input on data requirements, contributing to QA processes, and transitioning reporting pipelines.
- Document SOP’s for campaign workflows, and reporting standards to support consistency and continuity.
- Manage and maintain a formal record connecting campaign IDs, premiums, costs, and outcomes — ensuring financial and production data is auditable and not dependent on any single individual or working file.
- Ensure data handling practices align with organizational policies and applicable privacy and compliance requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide data support for drawings, seed tracking, and other compliance-related direct response activities.
- Assist with proofing variable data and list logic for direct mail production when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
