Miami Children's Museum is looking for a professional Security Guard to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests, employees, and facility. Every day is different, and you'll play a key role in ensuring families can enjoy their visit with peace of mind.

What You'll Do

  • Protecting the Museum's property, employees, guests, and assets.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Patrolling the building and surrounding property on a regular basis.
  • Monitoring entrances, exits, surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and emergency equipment.
  • Observing for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or disturbances and responding appropriately.
  • Investigating incidents and completing clear, accurate reports.
  • Controlling building and vehicle access as needed.
  • Responding professionally to emergencies and assisting with evacuation procedures.
  • Using sound judgment and de-escalation techniques to resolve situations safely.
  • Providing outstanding customer service while serving as a visible and approachable presence throughout the museum.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must successfully pass a Level II background screening and drug screening.
  • Previous security experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in schools, museums, or customer-facing environments is a plus.
  • Florida Class D Security License preferred.
  • CPR and AED certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong observation, report writing, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team-oriented with strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
