Accounting Assistant in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Med Center Health

The Accounting Assistant provides entry-level administrative and accounting support to Med Center Health’s Corporate Accounting Department. The position is designed to provide a college student pursuing a degree or career in accounting, finance, or a related field with practical experience in a healthcare accounting environment.

The Accounting Assistant will initially support the Accounts Payable team with routine transaction processing, documentation, invoice monitoring, research, and problem resolution. Once the Accounts Payable function has stabilized, the position may transition to other areas of Corporate Accounting based on departmental priorities, workload demands, and opportunities for professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university preferred, with coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles or completion of introductory accounting coursework preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle financial and business information.
• Ability to work a consistent schedule that meets departmental needs.
