In today’s rapidly evolving geopolitical environment, the U.S. Navy’s need for VIRGINIA Class Submarines continues to grow. Achieving the goal of delivering two VIRGINIA Class ships per year requires strong leadership, clear communication, and seamless coordination across programs.

LEAD, LEARN, AND GROW:
This role within the VIRGINIA Class Business Office is highly visible and critical to program success. The selected candidate will serve as a key contributor responsible for developing highquality, accurate, and timely briefing materials that support internal leadership and government stakeholders. You will also play a vital role in evaluating program commitments, assessing their completeness and accuracy, and determining their worthiness, as well as supporting open commitments.

The Position:
Working with Program Leadership and Project Teams, you will help advance strategic communication efforts for the VIRGINIA Program by transforming complex technical and business information into clear, concise, and actionable content for briefs, reviews, and decision forums. You will also assess and validate program commitments and deliverables to ensure they meet government expectations and align with established program priorities. You are also expected to provide support as needed to support commitment timeliness and communications between stakeholders to ensure completion.

At a high level, the selected candidate is responsible for leading the following:

  • Develop compelling, accurate briefing content to support VIRGINIA Program leadership and government engagements
  • Review and evaluate program commitments to determine completeness, quality, and readiness for government delivery
  • Maintain alignment across stakeholders to ensure messaging, commitments, and deliverables reflect VIRGINIA Program priorities
  • Communicate clearly and proactively to keep Program Leadership informed of emerging needs, gaps, and risks

In more detail, the responsibilities and expectations of a Business Office Representative are further described below:
Business Office Program Reps work directly with the Managers of their assigned POCs to support all aspects of the VIRGINIA Class Program. Successful candidates will be expected to engage with all levels of management to gather technical and business data, report progress, validate commitments, and seek as well as provide support from functional organizations. Engagement will be required across waterfront organizations including, but not limited to: Planning, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Test, Contracts, Finance, Ship’s Force, SUPSHIP Groton, and PMS450.

Qualifications

Required:

  • College Degree (BS) in Business, Finance, or Economics
  • 3+ years of experience in Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance OR 5+ years of shipyard experience OR 5+ years of Military experience
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Products

Preferred:

  • BS in Engineering
  • 3+ Years of Electric Boat Project management experience
  • Previous Professional Rotations or shipyard leadership experience
  • Established working knowledge of EB Business Systems
  • Operations and Government relationships
