Position Summary:
PLEASE NOTE: This position is for theUNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west ofAlbuquerque, NM.

TheUniversity of New Mexico has established branch colleges to serve the citizensof New Mexico and to provide the highest quality of education for studentspursuing post-secondary education at different locations throughout the state.Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multiculturalbackgrounds of their respective communities by offering community educationprograms, career education including certificate and associate degree programs,and transfer programs that prepare students for upper division entry intocolleges and universities.

TheUNM Gallup Branch Campus is seeking a Police Officer. The Police Officerposition will be part of the UNM Gallup Internal Police Department. The officerwill enforce local, state, and federal laws and ensures compliance withUniversity policies. Provides security for personnel, real property, andequipment. Investigates and documents crimes/incidents, documents and preservesevidence, and provides legal testimony. May be assigned to any shift; mayperform campus patrol or serve as substation, victim/witness assistance, orcrime prevention officer.

Conditions of Employment:

• Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
• Must maintain certification status.
• All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the POA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
