Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a key business partner supporting day-to-day HR operations across assigned locations. This role is responsible for executing core HR functions including recruiting, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and HRIS administration. The Generalist proactively partners with operations leadership to drive workforce effectiveness, mitigate risk, and ensure alignment with company policies, employment laws, and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess workforce needs, develop recruiting strategies, and forecast hiring demands
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting including requisition creation, sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination, and offer execution
  • Optimize sourcing channels to ensure a strong and diverse candidate pipeline while controlling recruiting costs
  • Ensure compliance with company hiring standards, background checks, and onboarding requirements
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, applicant flow, offer acceptance rates)

Onboarding & Staffing

  • Full cycle recruiting
  • Lead onboarding processes to ensure a seamless and compliant new hire experience
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of all new hire documentation and system entries
  • Conduct job analysis and maintain accurate, up-to-date job descriptions
  • Partner with HR leadership on compensation alignment, pay ranges, and internal equity

Employee Relations & Leadership Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters across assigned locations
  • Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into employee complaints, including harassment, discrimination, and policy violations
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, and conflict resolution
  • Identify and escalate high-risk issues to HR leadership as appropriate
  • Promote a positive, compliant, and performance-driven workplace culture

Time & Attendance Administration

  • Support administration and interpretation of company attendance and leave policies
  • Monitor attendance trends and provide guidance to leadership on corrective actions
  • Assist with timecard discrepancies and ensure alignment with payroll deadlines
  • Generate and issue attendance-related documentation in accordance with company policy

Performance Management

  • Support the execution of the performance review process, ensuring compliance and timely completion
  • Train managers on performance management tools, documentation standards, and progressive discipline
  • Partner with leadership on performance improvement plans (PIPs) and corrective actions
  • Ensure consistency and fairness in performance-related decisions across the organization

Compliance & HR Operations

  • Maintain employee personnel records in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements
  • Stay current on employment laws and ensure HR practices align with regulatory requirements across multiple states
  • Support HR audits and compliance initiatives (e.g., I-9, EEO, OSHA, wage & hour)
  • Administer HRIS (e.g., ADP/Paylocity), troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate with vendors as needed
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to support retention strategies

Reporting & Analytics

  • Compile and analyze HR metrics including turnover, headcount, time-to-fill, and attendance trends
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports to HR leadership and operations teams
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve workforce performance and reduce risk

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support HR projects and initiatives aligned with organizational goals
  • Assist in policy development, communication, and training
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR function and business operations
Requirements:

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-site or logistics/operations environment
  • Experience supporting both hourly and exempt workforces

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Proven ability to manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality

Work Environment & Travel

  • Multi-site operational environment with frequent interaction with field leadership
  • May require occasional travel to support business locations
