Maintenance Technician
Location: Production Farm
Reports to: Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, Supervisors
Works With: Team Members

Family Tree Nursery expects our Maintenance Team to emulate our core values in everything they do including teamwork, staying ready, showing excellence, and strong communication. The Maintenance Technician must be able to troubleshoot various equipment issues requiring attention to detail, help with property upkeep and have a can-do attitude. This role may also assist other departments as seasonal demand requires and perform tasks that are out of the ordinary as directed by leadership. This role will not only work on tasks with the maintenance team but will also work on jobs with various other Team Members, requiring collaboration, strong support and teamwork. A Maintenance Technician must have the ability to perform various tasks and collaborate with different groups to ensure the success of their department, with the ultimate goal of the success of the entire company.

Required Qualifications:
- Possess basic horticultural and product knowledge.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack, forklift, skid steer, cart tug or other equipment and vehicles with a clean driving record.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
Essential Functions:
- Work in a variety of weather conditions including hot, humid, cold or wet, and direct sun exposure.
- This position routinely requires employees to individually lift, carry, and maneuver heavy or awkward items that may exceed 50 pounds. Employees must use proper lifting techniques, follow all training and safety procedures, and exercise sound judgment when determining whether a load can be handled safely. When an item is too heavy, bulky, or unstable to lift alone, employees are expected to request assistance or use available mechanical aids to prevent injury.
- Work on a variety of surfaces including gravel, concrete, mud, dirt, or other surfaces.
- Must be available to work agreed upon availability.
- Stand and walk on your feet for multiple hours at a time with breaks as required by law.
- Operate effectively in a high paced setting involving various individuals and teams.

- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Execution: Perform tasks as assigned by leadership.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Manage, organize, and keep all tools in working order that are provided by the location.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical issues.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship.
- Practice professionalism in all tasks.
- Possess welding experience (desired not required).
- Be on-time, prepared, and present for every shift.
- Execute daily work lists as assigned.
- Answer phone calls.
- Load and unload trucks, hard goods, customer deliveries, etc.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by store leadership.
