Senior SDET, Agentic Quality in Brazil at Jobgether
Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior SDET, Agentic Quality based in Brazil.
We are seeking a senior software development engineer in test to shape how engineering teams build, validate, and deliver reliable software in an AI-driven development environment. In this role, you will strengthen existing automation frameworks, build new quality tooling, and improve the systems that help teams ship confidently. Rather than testing features on behalf of others, you will empower developers to own quality through collaboration, technical guidance, and better engineering practices. You will work across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing while contributing directly to production code and internal tools. A key focus will be advancing agentic quality workflows, including AI-assisted test generation, code review, and verification. This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines strong automation expertise, critical thinking, and a passion for helping teams deliver safer software faster.
Strengthen existing automated test suites by improving reliability, expanding coverage, modernizing testing patterns, and eliminating flaky tests.
Own and evolve shared test frameworks across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, maintaining the same engineering standards applied to production code.
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated checks, and quality gates that enforce engineering standards consistently.
Build and improve agentic quality tooling, including AI-powered workflows for test design, code review, verification, and automated quality assurance.
Partner with developers through pairing sessions, code reviews, and technical guidance to improve test design and make complex code easier to test.
Promote a culture of shared quality ownership by documenting best practices and helping teams adopt sustainable testing practices.
Integrate testability and production observability into feature planning, ensuring teams understand how to validate functionality and detect regressions.
Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and alerts that identify production issues early and help teams assess release health.
Contribute directly to production features, internal tooling, and new platform services while collaborating with engineering teams.
Support safe releases through production monitoring and quality signals, helping teams determine when to continue deployment or initiate a rollback.
Work across individual teams and the broader quality engineering organization to improve engineering practices, automation infrastructure, and delivery outcomes.
At least eight years of professional software development experience, regardless of job title.
At least five years of hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation as an SDET, test automation engineer, or software engineer responsible for test infrastructure.
Strong software engineering capabilities beyond writing tests, including experience building test frameworks, internal tools, CI tooling, or production features.
Extensive practical experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Hands-on experience with browser automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
Proven ownership of CI pipelines, including creating, configuring, troubleshooting, or improving workflows using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.
Demonstrated experience driving automated test coverage and quality practices within an engineering team.
Working knowledge of DevOps practices, including software build processes, deployment, production monitoring, and observability.
Experience implementing metrics, dashboards, or alerts to help teams detect and investigate production issues.
Daily professional experience using AI coding agents, along with practical experience building or improving agentic tools and workflows.
A collaborative, multiplier-oriented mindset, focused on enabling teams to deliver higher-quality software more efficiently.
Excellent written and spoken English, approximately C1 level, and experience collaborating daily with international teams.
Ability to work remotely from Brazil while reliably aligning working hours with US Pacific Time, frequently matching the 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT business schedule.
Nice to have:
Mobile development experience in Android or iOS, including mobile test automation with Espresso, XCUITest, Appium, or Maestro.
Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
Experience with Rust or another statically typed programming language.
Evidence of driving CI/CD improvements across an entire team or organization.
Experience with production canaries and progressive delivery, using error rates, latency, business metrics, feature flags, or automated rollback to manage releases safely.
Knowledge of test data and environment management, including repeatable processes for establishing realistic and reliable test conditions.
Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD).
Experience with AWS and cloud-native services.
Annual compensation: USD $70,000–$95,000, depending on experience, skills, and professional background.
Fully remote work arrangement, open to candidates based in Brazil and other eligible locations in Latin America or Canada.
Flexible paid time off (PTO).
Laptop and work-from-home setup stipend.
Monthly technology stipends to support internet access and AI tooling.
Opportunity to work with AI-driven software development practices and contribute to next-generation quality engineering systems.
Collaborative, international engineering environment that values diverse perspectives and continuous improvement.
