Job Title: Assembly Technician I

Department: Operations

Reports To: Assembly Supervisor

Pay/Wage Type: Hourly| Non-Exempt - $18.00 USD

Location: Columbus, OH

Work Hours: 10 Hour Shift (5 am to 3 pm or 3 pm to 1 am) - 4 days a week

Job Summary

The Assembly Technician I is responsible for providing continuous support in accordance with established specifications, work instructions, and safety protocols. This role ensures quality, accuracy, and consistency in products, contributing directly to Plaskolite’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The Assembly Technician I works as part of a collaborative production team to meet daily output goals and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coating, inspection, and/or cutting processes in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Inspect parts and products for quality and functionality, reporting any defects or inconsistencies to the team lead or supervisor.
  • Participate in line changeovers, equipment cleaning, and setup as needed.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and contribute to a culture of workplace safety and housekeeping (5S).
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and address operational concerns.
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles in accordance with company safety standards and certification requirements.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe equipment operation
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability.
  • Support Plaskolite’s One Team culture by demonstrating teamwork, integrity, and accountability in daily responsibilities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred but not essential
  • Ability to lift over 75 pounds
