Design Director, PR & Communications

This is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic and editorial-minded creative leader to shape the visual identity and communication strategy of a fast-growing consumer-focused organization. In this role, you will oversee the creative direction of internal and external communications, ensuring every brand touchpoint reflects clarity, consistency, and elevated storytelling. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership, marketing, HR, PR, and communications teams to transform complex ideas into compelling visual narratives across presentations, campaigns, events, social content, and brand initiatives. Accountabilities:
  • Lead and evolve the visual identity and creative direction for internal and external communications across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of the brand across executive communications, PR campaigns, presentations, events, social content, marketing collateral, and storytelling initiatives.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders including PR, communications, marketing, HR, and executive leadership to develop compelling and strategic creative solutions.
  • Oversee the development, review, and execution of creative assets across digital, print, experiential, and presentation-based formats.
  • Create visually engaging narratives that simplify complex concepts and strengthen audience engagement through strong editorial design and storytelling.
  • Establish and maintain scalable communication-focused brand systems, templates, style guides, and creative frameworks.
  • Mentor, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of designers and creative contributors while fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Improve creative operations, workflows, and processes to enhance scalability, efficiency, and execution quality.
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies and AI-assisted creative tools to drive innovation and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of professional design experience with progressive leadership responsibilities in brand, communications, or creative direction roles.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in visual storytelling, editorial design, brand systems, campaigns, presentations, and communication-focused creative initiatives.
  • Experience working within retail, consumer goods, lifestyle, e-commerce, or agency environments is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional typography, layout, and visual communication skills with a refined creative sensibility.
  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, communications design, audience engagement, and multi-channel creative execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Keynote, PowerPoint, and collaborative design tools.
  • Proven ability to create scalable design systems, templates, and brand guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate creative rationale clearly to senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic mindset combined with operational discipline, adaptability, and a passion for mentorship and creative excellence.
  • Interest in emerging creative technologies, AI-assisted workflows, and modern communication design trends is considered a strong advantage.
