The SEED School of Maryland is a statewide, public, college-preparatory boarding school that opened in August 2008. The school educates and boards 400 students in grades six through twelve. Position Summary
The SEED School of Maryland is seeking a professional, organized, and welcoming Administrative Associate to support daily front office operations and provide administrative support to the Administration Department.
This position serves as one of the first points of contact for students, families, staff, visitors, and community members. The Administrative Associate plays an important role in maintaining a welcoming, safe, organized, and responsive school environment while supporting daily school operations.
This is a salaried non-exempt position. The salary range is $40,000 to $45,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. The employee remains eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Administrative Associate will support front office and administrative operations, including:
- Serving as a primary front office contact for students, families, staff, visitors, and community members
- Answering, screening, and routing phone calls and inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Greeting visitors and supporting student and visitor check in and check out procedures
- Monitoring and maintaining visitor management and student authorization systems
- Supporting student, family, and staff communication as needed
- Maintaining accurate records and handling confidential student, family, and staff information with discretion
- Providing administrative support including filing, mail distribution, calendar updates, document preparation, and data entry
- Scheduling and preparing conference rooms for meetings
- Supporting meeting logistics, schoolwide activities, family events, and special projects
- Ordering, organizing, and maintaining office supplies and inventory
- Assisting with general administrative tasks assigned by school leadership
- Promoting a welcoming, respectful, and professional front office environment
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma required
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of three years of customer service, front office, or administrative experience
- Experience in a school, nonprofit, youth serving, or community based environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced school environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Professional demeanor when interacting with students, families, staff, visitors, and community members
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using technology based systems
Schedule
This is a full time, in person position. The schedule will be based on the school’s operational needs. Some support may be required for schoolwide events, family events, meetings, or special projects.
