THE ROLE

The Opportunity

Porter is responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness, organization, and readiness of both Nuage Miami warehouse locations — the Linens Building and the Furniture & Tabletop Building. This role ensures that all areas, from receiving docks to storage racks to staging zones, are kept clean, hazard-free, and audit-ready at all times. The Porter follows a daily cleaning schedule across both sites, coordinates directly with a Cleaning Assistant to divide and track tasks, and reports facility or equipment issues that affect cleanliness or safety. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role critical to maintaining Nuage’s presentation standards for every event.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Duties & Responsibilities

● Perform daily cleaning of both Miami warehouse locations, including floors, aisles, loading docks, restrooms, break areas, and office spaces. Specific areas will require driving a floor scrubbing machine.

● Maintain cleanliness of showroom, offices, breakrooms, bathrooms, and sewing room areas as per assigned schedule.

● Empty trash and recycling, manage disposal of packaging materials, and keep dumpster/waste areas orderly.

● Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean as needed throughout each shift; deep-clean high-traffic areas on a rotating schedule.

● Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, spills, damaged flooring, or safety hazards to the Warehouse/Operations Manager.

● Follow and maintain a daily/weekly cleaning schedule covering both warehouse locations, ensuring no area is missed.

● Coordinate the Cleaning Assistant's daily tasks, confirming assignments are completed and areas are inspection-ready.

● Adjust cleaning priorities around event load-in/load-out schedules, deliveries, and high-traffic periods, once approved by the supervisor.

● Travel between the two locations as needed to ensure consistent standards at both sites.

● Conduct daily walkthroughs (indoors and outdoors) of both facilities to confirm cleanliness standards are met before the end of shift.

● Keep a simple daily log or checklist confirming completed tasks at each location.

● Maintain cleaning supply inventory at both sites and flag reorder needs before supplies run out.

● Support warehouse and office teams by keeping pathways, racks, and staging zones clear and organized.

● Follow all safety protocols when using cleaning equipment and chemicals.

WHO YOU ARE

Qualifications & Experience

Required

● Prior experience in janitorial, porter, or warehouse cleaning roles.

● Ability to work independently and manage a schedule across two locations without close supervision.

● Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

● Able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Preferred

● Comfortable directing and coordinating the work of one assistant.

● Valid driver's license, for travel between the two Miami sites.

● Bilingual (English/Spanish).

● This position operates in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving equipment.

● The employee may occasionally be required to work in outdoor loading dock areas subject to varying weather conditions.

● Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety footwear and gloves is required in designated areas.

● Schedule flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
