Coweta Dentistry is looking for a Hygiene Assistant to join our team!

As a Hygiene Assistant, you will ensure the hygienists are set up for success prior to interfacing patients and during patient procedures. The Hygiene Assistant clearly communicates to the Hygienist – the patients’ needs/request and other education, procedures, diagnosis, and treatment related matters prior to treatment. The Hygiene Assistant performs a variety of patient care and office duties in addition to performing work chair-side as the Dentist examines and Hygienist treats patients and works proactively to ensure the Dentist clinical/hygiene needs are met. The Hygiene Assistant is responsible for making patients comfortable as they are seated in the dental chair, preparing the patient for treatment, and obtaining the accurate patient dental records. Some other Hygiene Assistants’ responsibilities are taking x-rays, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, cleaning rooms, preparing referrals, preparing trays, confirming appointments, and instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified and Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
• Use of dental/medical technology.
• Must be detail oriented and organized
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
• Strong computer skills including Dentrix
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Must pass criminal background check
