Job Overview:
Join our dedicated behavioral health team at Trinitas Regional Medical Center as a Licensed Social Worker in our Child Day Treatment program. In this impactful role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care to children and adolescents by conducting specialized clinical screenings and delivering vital therapeutic interventions. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to design tailored treatment plans and support families through the care continuum.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Active Social Worker License in the state of New Jersey (LSW).
• Demonstrated knowledge of human growth and development over the full lifespan.
• Proven ability to perform age-specific assessments, interpret patient data, and identify criteria for victims of abuse or neglect.
• Strong interpersonal, telephone, and electronic documentation skills to manage clinical charting.
Preferred:
• One (1) year of prior clinical experience in a pediatric, behavioral, or mental health outpatient setting.
• Prior experience collaborating with external community agencies, schools, and social service networks.

• Status: Full-Time (FT)
Essential Functions:
• Provides patients with weekly individual psychotherapy sessions, weekly family therapy sessions, and immediate crisis intervention within the program milieu as needed.
• Develops, implements, and facilitates individualized treatment plans, including individual, group, and family psychotherapy, and evaluates patient outcomes according to department policy.
• Assesses patient needs dynamically through clinical interviews, thorough chart/history reviews, and the utilization of standardized clinical instruments.
• Collaborates closely with the multidisciplinary care team, including families, psychiatrists, and behavioral assistance staff, to implement interventions and track progress toward treatment goals.
• Interprets the nature of illnesses and prescribed courses of treatment clearly for patients and their families, ensuring open channels of communication.
• Participates actively in clinical planning conferences to review and update comprehensive treatment and discharge plans.
• Collaborates fluidly with alternative hospital programs and external community agencies with which patients and families are actively involved.
• Obtains appropriate, legal releases of information and maintains up-to-date, highly confidential electronic patient medical files.
• Renders specialized, age-specific care across all designated pediatric populations, ranging from infants and children to adolescents.
