Alumni Support Specialist
Futures Recovery Healthcare is a state-licensed, Joint Commission accredited behavioral healthcare provider located in Tequesta, Florida of Palm Beach County. The Alumni Support Specialist establishes professional relationships with patients and maintains professional relationships with patients completing treatment and post discharge. The Alumni Support Specialist will facilitate various mutual-aid support groups, accompany patients and alumni in off- campus activities, and be involved in event planning and execution. The AS will be responsible for performing proactive outreach to alumni and for maintaining CRM records, following standards as set forth by the Director of Alumni Services. The AS will be responsible for various clerical activities and documentation completion.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates strong personal and professional boundaries at all times, both on- and off-site and across all forms of communication.
Establishes supportive, empathetic, and professional relationships with current patients to promote engagement during and after treatment.
Plans, organizes, facilitates, and supports alumni events and evening activities, ensuring a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented environment.
Adheres to and executes outreach schedules as set forth by department requirements, ensuring consistent patient and alumni engagement.
Serves as a designated responder for patients considering leaving treatment AMA/ACA, providing support and intervention to encourage continued participation.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with clinical and operations teams to ensure continuity of care.
Assists in reducing early discharges (AMA/ACA) through proactive engagement and support.
Facilitates mutual aid support groups (e.g., 12-Step, SMART Recovery) for patients and alumni.
Assists patients in completing alumni onboarding paperwork and transitioning into post-treatment programming.
Facilitates onboarding of alumni onto the organization’s engagement platform, providing a supportive introduction to the community.
Creates and posts engaging, recovery-oriented content to promote alumni connection and participation.
Actively maintains engagement on the alumni platform through consistent interaction, encouragement, and community-building efforts.
Monitors platform activity to ensure alignment with community standards and escalates concerns as appropriate.
Upholds and reinforces the organization’s code of conduct in all patient and alumni interactions.
Identifies, addresses, and escalates boundary violations or behavioral concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Maintains accurate, timely documentation of all patient and alumni interactions, engagement attempts, and outcomes in designated systems (e.g., CRM).
Provides reporting on activities and outcomes as required by supervisor and/or director.
Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling to support programming needs, including evenings, weekends, and on-site alumni activities.
Attends in-service trainings and maintains ongoing professional development as required.
Maintains a positive, professional attitude that reflects strong ethical standards and a commitment to recovery principles.
Ensures HIPAA compliance and maintains confidentiality of all patients (past, present, and future).
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or director.
Requirements:
- Batchelor's degree in a related education experience preferred, professional experience may substitute for degree requirements.
- Recovery Coach Certification Preferred
- CRM and EMR experience
- At least one (1) year of experience in the substance abuse or behavioral health field
- SMART Recovery Facilitator, event planning or hospitality experience a plus
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must possess effective communication and organizational skills with a strong patient focus.
