Description: H&H is seeking a Project Engineer / Project Administrator to join the firm's Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in the Fort Myers and Naples, Florida area. This position is responsible for providing engineering oversight and contract administration on transportation construction projects, including supervising inspection staff, managing project documentation, monitoring construction progress, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards.

Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with project teams, clients, contractors, and agency representatives
- Receive general direction on project assignments while exercising sound engineering judgment and independent decision-making
- Direct and assign work to administrative and field staff throughout all phases of construction projects
- Monitor construction progress and coordinate project activities to support successful project delivery
- Prepare, review, and manage progress estimates and final estimates throughout the duration of construction projects
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements and FDOT standards
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to resolve construction issues and support timely project completion
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida required
- Applicants licensed in another state must obtain Florida PE licensure by endorsement within six months of the project's Notice to Proceed (NTP)
Candidates with a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management:
- Minimum of two years of engineering experience on relevant transportation projects
- A master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management may substitute for one year of the required experience
- Candidates without a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management:
Minimum of eight years of CEI, roadway, or bridge construction experience - At least two years of experience must include relevant transportation projects
- The following certifications may be obtained within six months of the date of hire, provided the employee works under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer, meets all other position requirements, and follows an approved training plan:
- FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
- CTQP Final Estimates Level II
- CTQP Quality Control Manager certification, including successful completion of the required examination
