Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Probate Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. You will need to manage Georgia probate and evictions, civil litigation, and landlord-tenant files from initial intake through final resolution. This includes drafting state-specific pleadings, managing strict court deadlines, utilizing our case management stack, and coordinating with external vendors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal support expertise in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience in Probate to be able to start from day one independently.
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case preparation, document review, and filing procedures
- Monitor court dockets via PeachCourt, Odyessy, or county-specific e-filing portals
- Draft legal documents such as court petitions, complaints, answers, motions, demands for possessions and draft and file Dispossessory warrants across various Georgia counties.
- Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, court dates, and procedural requirements
- Proofread and review legal documents for accuracy while handling confidential information with utmost discretion
- Enter data accurately into case management systems like MyCase and ensure proper filing of all case-related materials
- Serve as primary point of contact for our vendor, CSS Eviction Services to ensure seamless filings.
- Provide administrative support including phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, managing emails, and organizing files efficiently
Experience
- Proven paralegal experience or legal administrative experience supporting litigation teams in a busy law office setting
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Probate and Evictions.
- Deep knowledge of the Georgia Civil Practice Act and local county court rules.
- Proficiency with MyCase and Smartsheet is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing high-volume dispossessory files from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of procedural law across multiple jurisdictions with familiarity in civil litigation processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with familiarity with document review platforms like iManage or similar systems
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence; proofreading expertise is essential
- Effective client communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette and organizational skills to manage a high-volume workload
- Background in sales a plus
