Electrical Engineer in Edmonton, Alberta at RigUp

We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems, equipment, and components

• Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and specifications

• Conduct system analyses and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues

• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including other engineers, technicians, and project managers

• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project proposals

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment

• Perform calculations for electrical load, voltage drop, and system capacity

• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems

• Provide technical support and guidance throughout project lifecycle

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain

• 5-10 years of relevant experience

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices

• Proficiency with electrical design software (AutoCAD, MATLAB, etc.)

• Understanding of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.)

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Project management capabilities
