Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to handle routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of our buildings, grounds, and equipment across all five of our locations: Genesis of Milford, Key Hyundai of Milford, Key Hyundai of Manchester, Middletown Chevrolet, and Byrider Meriden. This role requires a hands-on individual who can troubleshoot and resolve a variety of facility-related issues to help maintain a safe, clean, and properly functioning environment year-round.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall, and flooring repairs
Conduct snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and other designated areas to maintain safe access during winter conditions
Apply ice melt or salt and monitor conditions during and after snow events
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Keep accurate records of maintenance work performed
Coordinate with outside contractors when necessary
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certification
Experience in commercial or residential property maintenance
Work Environment:
Indoor and outdoor work environments
May require evenings, weekends, or on-call availability
Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
