The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and community-minded Assistant Teachers to support our Children's Education Program (CEP) and Youth Education Program (YEP). This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about Islamic education, enjoy working with children and youth, and are eager to contribute to a positive learning environment.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with Lead Teachers to support classroom instruction, engage students, and help create meaningful educational experiences that strengthen Islamic knowledge and character development.
Position SummaryAssistant Teachers support Lead Teachers in delivering engaging Islamic education programs while helping maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment. This position plays an important role in fostering student growth, encouraging participation, and supporting the overall success of ADAMS educational programs.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom SupportAssist Lead Teachers in preparing and implementing weekly lesson plans.
Support classroom instruction and educational activities.
Help manage classroom routines and student engagement.
Assist with recreational and enrichment activities.
Create a welcoming, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
Encourage student participation and positive behavior.
Build meaningful relationships with students and support their personal and spiritual development.
Serve as a positive role model for children and youth.
Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers, school administration, and fellow staff members.
Support classroom management and daily operations.
Attend required teacher trainings and staff meetings.
Contribute to a positive and professional team culture.
Minimum 3 years of experience working with children or youth, including teaching, mentoring, tutoring, or youth programming.
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to create and maintain a positive learning environment.
Ability to relate to students and understand the cultural context in which they are living.
Completion of foundational Islamic studies through an established institution or local masjid (references required).
Must be a college student and at least 18 years old.
Must be in good standing within the community.
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of ADAMS.
Bachelor's degree or active pursuit of a degree in Education or a related field.
Previous experience teaching in Islamic schools, Sunday schools, youth programs, or community organizations.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

Work schedules vary based on campus and branch assignment. Weekend availability is required.
