SCHOOL MISSION: The mission of CCHS, in partnership with the home, is to provide a college preparatory education, immersed in a biblical worldview, that prepares our students to impact the world for Christ.
MINISTERIAL FUNCTION: Every Employee at Calvary Christian High School, whether a teacher, administrator, or staff member, is charged with playing a formative role in the spiritual lives of every student, their parents, and other CCHS Employees. Such responsibility includes praying with others, leading a class or in devotions, actively engaging in Biblical Integration through training and day-to-day implementation, sharing the Gospel with students and parents, and providing spiritual guidance. The duties of this position at CCHS shall not only include non-religious, secular responsibilities, but shall include religious responsibilities with a heart for the soul of every student, parent and co-worker. RESPONSIBLE TO: Food Services Manager and Assistant Principal of School Culture
WORK HOURS: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Salaried Non-Exempt (10 months)
SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ and seek to model Him in speech, actions, and attitude.
- Set an example of the importance of prayer, reading the Bible, and faithful local church attendance.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, and staff.
- Show support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education and assist them in the task.
- Encourage students to accept God's gift of salvation and to grow in their faith.
- Emphasize to students the reality of their self-worth in Christ.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support School Administration in carrying out the mission of the school.
- Maintain confidentiality in all school-related matters.
- Follow all Ethics guidelines and training set forth by the Employee Handbook.
ADMINISTRATIVE & ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate effectively with the Food Services Manager to do whatever is required to support operation of the food service program, including but not limited to:
- Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
- Serve students and staff in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner.
- Work efficiently to meet lunch service deadlines and daily production schedules.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing food and supply deliveries.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Utilize basic computer programs and point-of-sale systems.
- Follow all school, health department, and food service regulations.
- Support special events and additional food service needs as assigned.
- Patient and encouraging attitude with the ability to guide, support, and work collaboratively alongside high school culinary students. Ready to demonstrate proper techniques and workplace professionalism by example.
- Demonstrate a willing spirit and cooperative attitude to fulfill any other responsibilities assigned by the Food Services Manager and school administration for the effective and efficient operation of the school.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Energetic and approachable, with a knack for building positive rapport with high schoolers and school staff.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and keeps a cool head during peak meal rushes.
- Self-motivated when working solo, but equally great at collaborating with the kitchen crew.
- A versatile team player who can easily shift gears as daily cafeteria needs change.
- Tech-savvy enough to navigate a modern point-of-sale system with training
- Reliable, on time, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to the kitchen every day.
- Prior commercial kitchen or cafeteria experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person!
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to perform work requiring sustained moderate physical effort, movement of objects weighing 40-60 pounds, operation of commercial food service equipment, continuous standing and tolerance of extreme variations in temperature
