Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Carries out daily operations of the University Health Partners of Hawai'i Speech and Hearing Clinic (UHPSHC) including reception, intake, insurance authorization, scheduling, release of medical information, and assisting clinicians with clerical/administrative activities in consultation with Department Chair, Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and Audiology (AUD) Clinical Operations and Clinical Services Coordinators (Coordinators), CSD Clinical Education Support Specialist, and Administrative-Fiscal Specialist.

Full-Time Monday - Saturday 8:00am - 5:00pm (rotating schedule to support Saturdays).

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Training/Experience

Minimum:

    Associate degree or work experience in administrative medical office and business practices and procedures. One year of medical reception and administrative experience including accepting and tracking referrals; requesting insurance preauthorization; and scheduling patient appointments with multiple providers.

Preferred:

    HIPAA and Medicare compliance trained and updated at least annually.CPR Certification.Experience in working with electronic medical records system.Experience in coordinating work assignments with multiple providers and patients.Associate degree or work experience in administrative medical office and business practices and procedures.One year of medical reception and administrative experience including accepting and tracking referrals; requesting insurance preauthorization; and scheduling patient appointments with multiple providers.


Skills Knowledge

Minimum:

    Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills.Excellent time management skills.Excellent customer service skills.Proficient in using MS Word and Excel.

Preferred:

Basic knowledge of health insurance plan coverage and preauthorization process.Knowledge of medical information release procedures and laws.Knowledge of physician office patient scheduling systems and registration systems.
