Job Description
SUMMARY: Director of Safety and Compliance will be responsible for safety to ensure industry standards and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Must be possess a positive and upbeat personality
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role
- Ability to gain knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and environmental laws and regulations
- Ability to create and present training programs
- Ability to work with little or no direct supervision
- Must possess good problem-solving skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Management and/or related safety experience.
- ASP, CSP or other applicable safety certifications are preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Good communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to establish credibility quickly. Must be decisive and able to recognize and support the organizations goals and priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this position the employee will be required to utilize the computer screen and keyboard, telephone and will need to bend and reach to file.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: General office and field environment.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This position is classified as full-time, exempt.
- Normal Days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
