The position plays a key role in planning and executing test and evaluation activities across the full system lifecycle, from early concepts to operational demonstrations.
You will work on multidisciplinary projects involving system verification, prototype testing, data analysis, and performance assessments.
The role requires close collaboration with engineering teams, program leaders, external stakeholders, and government partners.
You will help ensure emerging technologies meet mission requirements through rigorous testing and innovative problem-solving.

The Systems Engineer - Test and Evaluation will be responsible for leading technical test activities, supporting system validation efforts, and coordinating complex engineering operations across development programs. The role requires strong collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate test results into actionable recommendations.
- Plan, design, and execute system-level land-based and in-water test and evaluation activities throughout development, integration, verification, and qualification phases.
- Develop detailed test plans, procedures, traceability documentation, and verification matrices aligned with program objectives.
- Conduct functional, performance, environmental, and integration testing while ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
- Analyze test results, support root-cause investigations, identify system issues, and provide engineering recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports, situation reports, presentations, and executive-level briefings.
- Coordinate test logistics, including equipment readiness, software and hardware preparation, range resources, transportation, staffing, and data management.
- Lead Test Readiness Reviews, post-test evaluations, and field testing activities as a Test Director when required.
- Manage test risks, develop contingency plans, and support technical working groups focused on verification and validation.
- Support the development of test equipment, resource planning, system-level verification strategies, and innovative solutions for emerging capabilities.
- Contribute to system-of-systems testing by identifying capability gaps and improving evaluation methodologies.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in systems engineering, verification and validation, and technical testing within complex engineering environments. They should be comfortable working independently, collaborating across disciplines, and communicating technical findings clearly to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
- Relevant professional experience in systems engineering, test engineering, verification activities, or related technical roles:
- Senior-level roles: 14+ years of relevant experience.
- Advanced-level roles: 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Intermediate-level roles: 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing test plans and system verification activities.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, verification and validation methodologies, and configuration management.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation, test equipment, data collection methods, and performance evaluation.
- Ability to analyze complex technical information and communicate findings effectively through reports and presentations.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary, collaborative engineering teams.
- Familiarity with automated test systems, data analysis tools, scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB is preferred.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, power systems, or similar technical domains is advantageous.
- Knowledge of test range operations, environmental testing standards, reliability assessments, failure analysis, or Test Readiness Reviews is a plus.
- Experience with digital engineering, system models, requirements traceability, or system-of-systems testing is beneficial.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for government security clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to program security requirements.
- Competitive salary range of approximately $105,900 - $231,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and role level.
