Job Description
Certified Nursing Assistant - Medical Oncology Ortho
Role Overview
Working under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director, and under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides skilled, age-specific care. This role focuses on supporting patient-related tasks and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and perform routine clinical procedures.
- Vital Signs: Measure, record, and monitor patient vital signs accurately.
- Patient Observation: Monitor patients closely and immediately report any changes in condition to the supervising Nurse or Physician.
- Proactive Communication: Serve as a key link by communicating patient needs effectively to the care team.
- Clinical Documentation: Document all patient interactions, care provided, and observations accurately in the medical record.
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.87 - $24.88
Qualifications
Education:
- Prefer a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Prefers at least one (1) year of relevant nursing assistant or healthcare-related experience.
Specialized Training:
- Must successfully complete approved Valleywise Health computer classes.
Certification/Licensure:
- Requires licensure through the AZ Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Requires BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
- Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
