Job Description
Boyd Richards Parker & Colonnelli, P.L., a civil defense law firm with offices in New York and Florida, seeks an experienced full-time Legal Assistant with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our Miami office. The firm offers hybrid remote work, great benefits, and a relaxed office environment with state-of-the-art technology.
The candidate must be organized with strong communication skills and fully computer literate, experienced with Word, Outlook, and Excel. The role involves drafting and preparing pleadings, correspondence, and other documents, plus client communications and other administrative duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Assist in drafting and preparing pleadings, discovery, and other court filings
Perform clerical and data entry duties
Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, mediations, and hearings; set up Court Call or Zoom for hearings
Manage documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe
E-file legal documents in Florida's E-Portal system
Prioritize workload based on deadlines; communicate with attorneys and staff
Requirements:
Prior law firm experience (required)
Excellent communication skills; professional interaction with attorneys, court personnel, opposing counsel, and clients
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; works well in a team or independently
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of Sierra Expert, Litify and NetDocs a plus
Benefits: Excellent compensation commensurate with experience; health and dental after three months of full-time employment; 401(k); life insurance; vision; paid time off.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (1-hour lunch)
