Senior Key Account Manager (San Diego)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Key Account Manager (San Diego) based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic account growth within a dynamic consumer brand environment.
You will own revenue performance, product strategy, and relationship management across key retail partners.
The position combines commercial leadership, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to maximize business opportunities.
You will influence product adoption, inventory strategy, and long-term account success across footwear, apparel, and accessories categories.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will shape go-to-market strategies and drive measurable growth.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and strengthening strategic retail partnerships. You will manage the complete account lifecycle, from revenue planning and inventory optimization to product presentations and business reviews, while serving as a trusted expert for assigned accounts.

  • Develop and execute account revenue strategies aligned with broader business growth objectives across footwear, apparel, and accessories categories.
  • Create seasonal account plans that identify growth opportunities, product priorities, and initiatives that support revenue targets.
  • Manage inventory flow, assortment decisions, and sell-through performance to maximize account health and business results.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed recommendations around replenishment, forecasting, and future opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail stakeholders, including buyers, executives, replenishment teams, and marketing partners.
  • Lead business reviews and provide insights on account performance, competitive activity, customer feedback, and marketplace trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including sales leadership, analytics, marketing, distribution, and product teams to deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver product presentations that support seasonal launches, category expansion, and customer engagement.
  • Coordinate account-focused programs, events, promotions, and product trial initiatives to increase brand visibility and sell-through.
  • Provide field insights on customer needs, competitive products, and industry trends to guide future strategies.
  • Travel regularly to support account relationships, trade shows, sales meetings, and key business initiatives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong strategic sales experience, deep retail expertise, and the ability to manage complex partnerships. You should have a proven record of growing key accounts, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and using data to drive commercial decisions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in footwear and apparel sales.
  • 5+ years of experience managing key or strategic accounts.
  • Experience within specialty retail, particularly running or performance-focused retail, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of account planning, revenue forecasting, inventory management, and sell-through strategies.
  • Experience using sales analytics and CRM tools such as Microsoft Data Cube, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Tableau, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust across internal and external teams.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% during peak seasons, including customer visits, trade shows, and company meetings.
