You will design and scale distributed services that enable offline maps, trail intelligence, and real-time geospatial data processing used by outdoor enthusiasts in the field. The role combines deep backend engineering with ownership of end-to-end features, from architecture to production reliability. Accountabilities:

Design and build scalable backend APIs and distributed services that support off-road navigation, mapping, and land intelligence features, ensuring high availability and performance in real-world conditions.
Own end-to-end delivery of backend capabilities, including architecture design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support in production environments.
Collaborate with mobile and frontend engineers to define clear API contracts and integration patterns that enable smooth, efficient cross-platform development.
Participate in architectural decision-making for geospatial and mapping systems, contributing to shared engineering standards and long-term platform scalability.
Improve system reliability through enhanced observability, monitoring, alerting, and proactive incident response, including participation in on-call rotations.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and collaborative problem-solving to strengthen team capability.
Explore and apply modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development workflows, to improve productivity, quality, and system intelligence.

Requirements

7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong focus on backend systems, distributed architectures, and cloud-based services.
Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), with additional familiarity or curiosity for frontend technologies such as Vue.
Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, API design, and scalable backend development.
Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Experience building, debugging, and maintaining highly available, production-grade systems.
Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
Experience working in remote, distributed teams with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with geospatial systems, offline-first architectures, or cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) is a strong plus.
Passion for clean, maintainable, well-tested code and continuous learning, including emerging AI tooling.
