Job Description

Position Overview

We are searching for a qualified Branch Manager to be responsible for the overall daily branch operations and member service of the teller and member support areas. Manages relationships with the Library of Congress community, with an emphasis of enrolling existing and new employees as members of the credit union. Participates in community activities, promoting the LCFCU brand, value proposition and community development.


The Branch Manager provides supervision and guidance to staff, coaching and developing employees. They ensure that branch activity drives overall profitability of the branch and meets credit union goals and objectives. This position also oversees ATM balancing and operation. The role assists as needed with member service coverage, modeling exceptional member service. They assure that credit union policies and procedures are followed. Maintains equipment and files necessary to keep accurate records.

Education and Experience

Previous supervisory experience is required.


  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Financial Institution supervisory experience is required.
  • Minimum two to three years financial institution experience in teller operations and/or customer/member support. Credit Union League courses in Accounting, Supervisory and Member Services (appropriate college level or other financial education certification may be applied in lieu of credit union league courses) or relative work experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide courteous and professional service to members in such a way that the result is extreme member satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated effective communications skills.
  • Manage overall profitability through loan and deposit growth, meeting goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and members.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of products and services including general knowledge of IRAs, deposit products, transaction products, data processing, ACH, CDs, ATM, payroll, regulations and compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • The ability to effectively direct subordinates to complete tasks and required training.
  • Demonstrated effective analytical and decision making skills.
  • The ability to develop and present policy and procedure recommendations.
    1. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office machines required



    Requirements

  • Represent the credit union to members in a courteous, professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient and accurate services when responding to member's requests.
  • Maintain knowledge of all credit union services to support cross-selling to all members and training and guidance to staff.
  • Provide training, assistance and supervision to staff; assist with complex transactions and error correction. Delegate back-office work and specialized project assignments as necessary.
  • Resolve member problems and unusual situations in the teller and member services areas as needed.
  • Order, control and disburse ATM cash and vault cash. Balance credit union ATM and replenish cash as needed on a daily basis.
  • Assure that on-site ATMs are fully operational during daily balancing procedures and that machines are adequately supplied with balance and receipt tapes.
  • Responsible for the disbursement and inventory of gift cards and money orders. Maintain reports, balance money orders and gift cards on a monthly basis and ensure payment to appropriate vendors on a timely basis.
  • Assist with verification/research of Operations general ledgers.
  • Implement procedural and policy changes as requested by management.
  • Review and recommend changes/updates to internal policies and procedures necessary to maintain efficient and accurate customer service.
  • Responsible for Petty Cash GL account and monthly reconciliation.
  • Maintain log of records storage, retention and retrieval.
  • Comply and follow Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
  • Ability to work in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
