Accountabilities:
  • Lead the engineering team responsible for merchant-facing platform experiences, ensuring successful delivery of projects with high standards of quality, reliability, and execution speed.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers through performance management, career growth planning, and continuous feedback.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and technical reviews, helping teams make sound decisions around scalability, latency, reliability, and data integrity.
  • Partner closely with Product leadership to define roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, identify risks, and balance ambitious goals with realistic execution plans.
  • Drive operational excellence through monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Oversee the evolution of AI-powered merchant experiences while maintaining the stability and usability of existing platform capabilities.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent as the organization continues to scale.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance engineering culture within a remote-first environment.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing software engineering teams with direct responsibility for delivery, performance, and employee development.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to evaluate system designs, identify architectural trade-offs, and guide engineering decisions.
  • Experience building and operating large-scale backend, infrastructure, or platform systems where reliability and correctness are critical.
  • Ability to lead effectively in environments with limited process, high autonomy, and evolving priorities.
  • Strong judgment regarding technical governance, design reviews, and escalation of complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience hiring and building high-performing engineering teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with technical involvement and operational ownership.
  • Experience within payments, fintech, infrastructure platforms, or AI-powered products is advantageous but not required.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote work environment with global flexibility.
  • Competitive compensation package including equity participation.
  • Uncapped vacation policy with a minimum recommended annual leave allowance.
  • Access to coworking spaces worldwide.
  • Company retreats and workation opportunities designed to strengthen collaboration.
  • Home office setup allowance.
  • High-quality equipment and technology resources.
  • Generous professional development and learning budget.
  • Private medical insurance coverage.
  • Additional location-specific benefits and perks.
