Job Description
The City of Biddeford is seeking an energetic, creative, and community-minded professional to lead and revitalize our Public Access Television program.
This is a unique full-time opportunity to reimagine and grow a community resource with tremendous potential. We're looking for a self-starter who combines strong technical and media production skills with a passion for community engagement. The successful candidate will build relationships with residents, schools, organizations, and local leaders while expanding awareness and participation in public, educational, and governmental (PEG) access programming.
As Public Access Supervisor, you will report to the Communications Manager and oversee the operation of Biddeford's public access channel, coordinate coverage of municipal meetings, support community-produced programming, train volunteers and content creators, and help tell the stories that matter most to our residents. Whether you're producing content, teaching others how to create it, or developing new partnerships throughout the community, you'll play a key role in connecting Biddeford residents with local government, organizations, and each other.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate the broadcast of televised meetings of the City Council and other City Committees, Boards and Commissions;
- Plan and execute policies and procedures and train any interested individuals to produce television programs;
- Collaborate with the Communications Division and other City staff on the production of informational videos for residents;
- Develop and implement outreach programs to local groups and educational institutions;
- Develop a local network to promote PEG access opportunities available to the community;
- Prepare annual budget for the Public Access Center and manage purchasing and general maintenance of equipment necessary to operate the channel;
- Coordinate maintenance of the PEG facility;
- Coordinate programming schedule;
- Supervise volunteers as required;
- Provide assistance to franchise authority in matters related to cable contract; and
- Keep informed of trends, issues, events and developments within the PEG Access field through peer contacts, conference attendance, etc.
