Part-Time Driver - Ride Connection Tualatin

We’re seeking a compassionate, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join us as a Part-Time Driver based in Tualatin/King City.

Our services are designed to fit each person's individual needs and circumstances. While our services are primarily for older adults and people living with disabilities, we believe every individual should have access to reliable transportation and some services are designed for the general public. As a Driver for Ride Connection, you’ll play a meaningful part in helping your community members get around safely, easily, and at no cost to them.

About the Role

The King City Link is a free, weekday public transportation service that connects King City, Tigard along Durham Road, Durham, and Tualatin with connection to Bridgeport Village, Tualatin Park and Ride and Tualatin WES Station.

Anticipated hours for this position are 7:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This position will be reporting to King City to pick up a vehicle and will be driving one of our 14 passenger buses. (*No CDL required)

This is a non-exempt position with a pay range of $21.48–$26.43 per hour, starting pay depends on directly comparable experience.

Schedule: Anticipated hours are Friday, 7:00 am–12:30 PM
Vehicle: Ride Connection 14-passenger bus
Service Area: King City, Tigard, Durham, and Tualatin

What You’ll Do

  • Safely transport customers throughout the service area using both fixed route and on-demand assignments.
  • Assist customers with boarding and exiting the vehicle when needed, prioritizing comfort and safety.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, patience, and respect.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols, especially when serving passengers with mobility challenges.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain proper fuel levels.
  • Communicate effectively with the Program Manager and dispatch team to ensure efficient operations.


Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than two infractions in a 5 year lookback period).
  • Minimum of 5 years of licensed driving experience, as recorded by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds and safely secure mobility devices in an enclosed space.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
  • Experience using smartphones and tablets and comfort using apps for both schedule and navigation.
  • Ability to pass a National Criminal Record Check (fingerprinting required). *Findings will be reviewed and may not exclude candidates in some cases


*This role is subject to Federal Transit Administration (FTA) “Safety Sensitive” requirements, including participation in the Drug & Alcohol testing program (pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion).

Welcomed Additional Qualifications

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
  • Previous experience in a driving, particularly with larger vehicles.
  • Experience, professional or personal, working with older adults and people with disabilities.
