JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Leisure Sales contributes to the success of Sanctuary Camelback Mountain by developing and executing sales strategies to attract leisure travelers, build lasting client relationships, and maximize resort revenue. This role drives business through proactive prospecting, personal sales calls, written correspondence, telemarketing, site inspections, and local and regional sales initiatives. The Director of Leisure Sales collaborates with resort leadership and cross-functional teams to identify new business opportunities, strengthen market presence, and promote Sanctuary's distinctive luxury hospitality experience.

Guided by Sanctuary's North Star Vision and Spirit of Service, this role builds authentic connections and creates opportunities for intentional experiences beyond imagination, ensuring guests feel valued, understood, and cared for.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive.

  • Responsible for achieving quarterly revenue goal and annual transient rooms budget.
  • Manage all leisure travel accounts in local, national, and international markets.
  • Work directly with consortia partners such as (but not limited to) American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts, Virtoso, Signature Travel Network, Andrew Harper travel, etc.
  • Perform exceptional communication skills throughout all functions of the position.
  • Perform daily phone solicitation of leads.
  • Conduct site inspections and FAM trips with travel advisors
  • Build relationships to promote, prospect and sell Sanctuary to the Travel Trade through personal sales calls, written correspondence, site inspections and local/regional prospecting, generating, and maximizing revenue.
  • Work directly with the Rooms team to ensure communication of guest preferences for a seamless stay.
  • Prepare and update quarterly tactical plan for leisure segment to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Works collaboratively with travel agents to ensure the client’s needs are being met.
  • Participates in sales calls with sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplary customer service, and creating a positive example for guest relations.
  • Executes and supports Sanctuary service standards and resort’s brand standards.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by communicating in a manner that enables positive interactions with guests, vendors, co-workers, and management.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

  • Promote excellent guest relations while living the Sanctuary Commitments.
  • Maintain a high level of work quality and quantity per resort standards.
  • Practice teamwork and effective communication with manager/supervisor/co-workers.
  • Always maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and a positive attitude towards all.
  • Attend all meetings and training as scheduled by Leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. Equivalent
  • 2-year or 4 degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.

Related Work Experience

  • Must have at least 5 years prior sales experience.
