Medical Assistant - Rheumatology in Dover, Delaware at Access Infusion Care Inc

Infusion Solutions of Delaware (ISD) is seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our rheumatology practice in Dover, Delaware.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant who wants to become an important part of a growing specialty practice. Our Medical Assistants work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers and have responsibilities that extend beyond traditional rooming and vital signs, including treatment coordination, prior authorizations, prescription support, patient communication, and helping patients navigate their care.

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, professional, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys working closely with patients who have chronic medical conditions.

• Interview patients and accurately document medical histories and current concerns
• Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical information
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient visits
• Enter patient information and physician documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate treatments, testing, and referrals
• Assist with prescription requests and medication refills
• Complete and follow up on prior authorizations for medications, diagnostic testing, and other services
• Triage patient messages and route clinical concerns appropriately
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities
• Obtain outside medical records, laboratory results, imaging reports, and other information needed for patient care
• Assist the clinical team with maintaining an efficient patient flow throughout the office
• Provide professional, compassionate service to patients and their families

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Experience in a physician office or outpatient specialty practice strongly preferred
• Rheumatology experience is a plus but is not required
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working with electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems
• Strong computer and typing skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Compassionate and comfortable working closely with patients who have chronic medical conditions
• Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team

Work Location: In person - Dover, Delaware

Salary: $40,000-$52,000 per year, commensurate with experience
