Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accountant III always treats internal and external customers with courtesy and sensitivity to foster cross-functional relationships across the system. This position is expected to exceed in assuming, completing, and proactively seeks additional responsibilities. The Accountant III always behaves in a professional manner. This position also solicits, accepts and applies constructive criticism.
The Accountant III produces accurate, high quality deliverables requiring limited review according to policies and procedures. This position also develops and utilizes tools to verify accuracy of product prior to submission.
This Accountant III relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish established goals. This positon also performs a variety of complicated tasks and is expected to work independently while leading the work of others as needed.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years prior experience in healthcare or related area required. Grant accounting experience preferred.
CPA/MBA Preferred. Candidates need an advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Applications required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires desk and computer work a majority of the day with frequent standing and walking and reaching.

This position reports to Department Leadership.
