Inventory Control Supervisor
As a member of the Supervisor team at Lyndale, the Inventory Control Supervisor reports to the Assistant Store Manager of Inventory and is essential to the success of the Stock department and the store in general. The Inventory Control Supervisor primarily assists in leading and managing the stock team, but they also play key roles in the following store functions: monitoring the movement of products within the store, helping unload trucks, recording inventory, performing disposition of and discarding products, stocking the sales floor, responding to calls when associates need manager support, and directly assisting customers on the sales floor or via telephone or email support.
Job Duties:
Customer Service
- Welcome each guest in an authentic way.
- Identify and approach customers in the store without hesitation.
- Provide information about products and services to customers who visit or call the store for information.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by prioritizing customer needs.
- Perform carry-out service and retrieve carts in parking lot.
- Receive and verify arrival of product ensuring proper quality standards and billing is correct.
- Maintain the loading dock and customer hold area.
- Unload and stock products inside and outside.
- Assist in proper care for plants.
- Properly disposition and dispose of aging or infested inventory.
- Follow and train on Bachman’s Best Practices.
- Perform cycle count and other inventory functions to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assist in opening, unpacking and pricing merchandise.
- Perform stocking, restocking, and rotation of merchandise on shelves.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining seasonal product displays.
- Ensure the physical cleanliness, security and maintenance of the store, including restrooms.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Read and comply with directives stated in the merchandise presentation guides.
- Hire, onboard, train, schedule and manage frontline associates.
- Assign specific tasks to associates daily and monitor each associate’s performance.
- Coach associates in-the-moment to align with training and Bachman’s core values.
- Provide work direction to other associates in the absence of the supervisor.
- Provide training as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- Ability to manage a diverse team effectively under time pressure.
- Ability to motivate a team to perform at a high level.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Assistant Store Manager of Inventory.
- Ability to align inventory management practices with Bachman’s Inventory Team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at any given time.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform basic math skills with a high level of reliability.
- Ability to work in all types of temperatures and weather conditions (hot, cold, wet).
- Strong eye for detail.
- Ability to stand/walk on hard surfaces during the entire shift, working at a fast pace.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs with frequent bending and follow proper lifting techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in retail or warehouse experience.
- Interest in the floral/garden/gift industry preferred.
- Technical knowledge including previous use of POS, scan guns, and/or computer equipment.
- High energy level.
Schedule:
- Available to work a flexible schedule during retail hours.
Compensation: $20.50/hour
