About the role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading construction projects through completion while managing both internal team performance and customer expectations. This role requires effective oversight of foremen and field staff, proactive client communication, and clear accountability for delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will forecast and allocate resources, maintain detailed project schedules, and ensure consistent coordination among stakeholders. Occasional on-site monitoring, quick resolution of operational challenges, and independent decision-making are essential to keeping projects on track. This position plays a critical role in optimizing workflows, ensuring the safe use of equipment, and delivering successful outcomes on time and within budget.
What you'll do
- Strategically forecast and manage resources to achieve project objectives efficiently.
- Lead and supervise foremen and laborers to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers, providing regular updates on project timelines and progress.
- Demonstrate adeptness in construction site processes to facilitate smooth operations.
- Develop and meticulously oversee a comprehensive project schedule and work plan.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, encompassing strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Adhere to industry-leading practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution.
- Analyze diagrams to accurately determine structural dimensions.
- Continuously monitor project progress and adapt plans as necessary.
- Possess the capability to work on water when required.
- Ensure safe transportation and handling of all company equipment.
- Promptly communicate job status and completed work to the office for billing purposes.
- Exercise independent decision-making and prioritization to optimize operational efficiency.
- Evaluate project performance to identify areas for enhancement.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.
- Preferred 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in project management best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing projects from conception to completion.
- Strong verbal communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and operate power tools proficiently.
- Self-motivated and dependable with a proven ability to solve problems creatively.
